How it works
- Pick the animal and type how many you keep, their stage or weight, and what each eats per day. Every field starts with a published figure and shows its source and the date it was read; change it to what your feeder shows.
- Type the bag or bale you buy: its weight and, if you like, its price. The result shows the amount per day and per month, bags or bales per month exact and rounded up, and how long one lasts.
- Add a price and the cost per month appears, per animal and for the group. Nothing is uploaded: the numbers stay in your browser, and Pro reads them from there for the household plan.
Units follow the region you pick: US first, then UK and Metric (US (lb, oz, $); UK (kg, g, £); Metric (kg, g, €)). The maths is the same everywhere; only the units and the starting bag sizes change.
Why there is no account
A feed calculator does not need to know who you are. Your animals, your amounts and your prices are kept in your own browser, on this device, and the calculators read them back the next time you open the page. Clear the browser data and they are gone; we never had them.
The same goes for Pro: the household plan is built in your browser from what you typed in the four calculators, printed or exported from there, and unlocked through a payment receipt rather than a login.

Frequently asked questions
- Are the calculators free?
- Yes, all four, with no limit and no sign-up. Pro is a paid extra for people who keep several species and want them on one printable plan with the shopping list and the total; the free tools do not change.
- Where do the starting figures come from?
- From published sources: research council tables, university extension sheets and animal welfare bodies. Each figure shows its source and the date it was read right under the field, and every one of them is yours to change. There are no live prices and no claims about any brand of feed.
- Is this veterinary advice?
- No. The amounts are published averages for planning what to buy. Breed, age, weather, work and health move them, and a vet or an animal nutritionist decides what an individual animal needs.
- What does Pro add?
